The CEFR levels were developed in 2001 by the Council of Europe.
The levels are A1,A2 for beginners,
B1,B2 for Intermediate and
C1,C2 for Advanced.
The IELTS Courses also correspond to the CEFR Levels.
It normally takes 200 hours of class time to advance from one level to the next.
With 52 weeks in the year and 4 hours of class a week, that equates to one year.
This can vary widely depending on the student and his motivation and his exposure to the language outside of class.
Choosing the correct class level is important for learning at the correct speed.
If the class is too low, you will be bored and lose time.
If the class is too advanced, you will be lost and overwhelmed and maybe stop learning.
Therefore a free online English level test online with answers is used to help you choose the correct class level
in order to learn at the correct speed.
